Greetings from Colorado Springs, Colorado! I’ve just had the pleasure of celebrating my nephew’s graduation from the United States Air Force Academy and it was all so inspiring! These “kids” have done more than we can even imagine as they have pushed the limits of their body, mind and spirit over the past 4 years. The 2026 class motto is “No Quit, All Grit.” As I watched the commissioning Wednesday night, I was touched as they each promised to “Support and defend the constitution of the United States, against all enemies foreign and domestic.” They went on to confirm this promise was given of their own free will, and without reservation. WOW. When I think of the world we’re living in, I’m so grateful for these servant leaders getting ready to serve us all. Another element that stood out was their single minded devotion to their mission. For 4 years they have been focused on completing all the tasks laid out for them in the quest for their degree and completion of the program. Their “higher calling” was driving them forward week after grueling week, month after demanding month. And I thought to myself…”How am I utilizing a singular devotion for the purposes of my higher calling?” So I ask you too, how are you, at the stage you in, living out your calling with singular devotion? And how does that show up when we are obviously not part of the military, or young, 22-year-olds bright eyed and bushy tailed and eager to get life started? Does it feel like it’s too late? I hope not! I don’t think it’s ever too late to dig in to what you are called to do. It’s never too late to do more of what you love. It’s never too late to unapologetically live fully into who you are. In fact, the world need more of you, not less! So let this be an inspiration for us all to live with wholehearted abandon into what we know we are called to be doing. Speaking of wholehearted abandon…I actually broke my 145 day art making, and 65 day drawing streak. Boo!…but when we got here Monday, the whirlwind began and I just had no time to do any art. So I gave myself permission to just miss these days, stay in the moment, and pick up where I left off when I get home. I guess perfection was never the goal anyway. :) Love you and cheering you on, Christy :) P.S. From Thursday, here’s a quick pic of my nephew shaking hands with Vice President J.D. Vance, his commencement speaker, just after giving each other a salute. Very cool. :) P.P.S. I’m going to do a short video this Saturday (tomorrow) going over my capsule or Sudoku wardrobe for my month-long Europe trip. I leave Monday, so I figured I’d better be pretty much packed by Saturday. I’ll do it at 2:00pm Central on Instagram . I’ll do it as a live. So join me there for all the fun. (I might even surprise myself and actually keep it pared down to just a few things!) |

Greetings my friend from the beautiful city of Oslo, Norway! I’m at the beginning of a month long trip to Scandinavia, and so far it’s been great. The first 2 days were solo before my husband joined me (I used points to fly) and that meant I could shop, wander and sketch as my heart desired…and that also meant I had the time to try something special… KOK Sauna Oslo Yes! I made a reservation at a Floating Sauna - have you heard of these? They are located in the harbors of Oslo. Here’s what it...
Hey sweet friend, Happy Memorial Day Weekend! USA! Yes, seems like an oxymoron since Memorial Day by definition is a bit sad. As we remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of freedom, our hearts of full of gratitude for them and sadness for their loss. It's a good thing we can hold both emotions at once. Both can be true for sure. And that brings me to an idea I wanted to share with you today. Gratitude In the words of the C.S. Lewis Institute, "Being grateful...
