Pop of Positivity

Hey sweet friend,

It's Friday already! How did this week...month...year... go so fast?

Today is actually the 100th day of the year. Can you believe it?

As I've mentioned before, I'm doing The Bible Recap again this year, and today we celebrated 100 days of reading the Bible.

If you've been thinking about it, I'd encourage you to join us now. We just started 1 Samuel a few days ago, so it would be super easy to "catch up" and join in the daily reading.

1 Samuel is the start of the Kings in Israeli history, so it's a simple place to join the story.

Just 15 minutes a day, (scripture reading and a quick overview summery of the reading) and I promise it will give you a peace and calm in the midst of all the daily storms.

It's the best thing I did in 2025, and I have a feeling you will love it too.

You can listen in The Bible App or on your favorite podcast platform. You can also get a printed copy here if you'd rather just read it. I have both, but have found that listening to the Bible reading, then Tara Leigh's summary right after is the best way for me to process the material.

Simple and effective. Just like we like it. :)

Also, as we are 100 days into the year, I wanted to encourage you to think of a hobby you have wanted to try. You probably thought about it in January, but then life happened and you forgot about it.

What was it you wanted to do?

Knitting?

Crochet?

Special trip?

Pickleball (hint, hint) :)

Painting

Reading

Pilates

Hiking

Swimming

The list goes on...what is it you have always wanted to do, but for whatever reason, haven't yet?

Consider this your gentle nudge to take action today, tomorrow or this week. Don't wait!

I promise you'll be glad you did.

Love you and cheering you on,

Christy :)

P.S. This afternoon I head to an art show up in McKinney - a cute little town just north of here. Here's how I think I'll set up my table to sell, (including my Amalfi Coast inspired series) and to demo watercolor painting during my time slot (6-9pm)...watch Instagram stories to see how the setup looks in the old town square. xoxo

Greetings my friend from the beautiful city of Oslo, Norway! I’m at the beginning of a month long trip to Scandinavia, and so far it’s been great. The first 2 days were solo before my husband joined me (I used points to fly) and that meant I could shop, wander and sketch as my heart desired…and that also meant I had the time to try something special… KOK Sauna Oslo Yes! I made a reservation at a Floating Sauna - have you heard of these? They are located in the harbors of Oslo. Here’s what it...

Greetings from Colorado Springs, Colorado! I’ve just had the pleasure of celebrating my nephew’s graduation from the United States Air Force Academy and it was all so inspiring! These “kids” have done more than we can even imagine as they have pushed the limits of their body, mind and spirit over the past 4 years. The 2026 class motto is “No Quit, All Grit.” As I watched the commissioning Wednesday night, I was touched as they each promised to “Support and defend the constitution of the...

Hey sweet friend, Happy Memorial Day Weekend! USA! Yes, seems like an oxymoron since Memorial Day by definition is a bit sad. As we remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of freedom, our hearts of full of gratitude for them and sadness for their loss. It's a good thing we can hold both emotions at once. Both can be true for sure. And that brings me to an idea I wanted to share with you today. Gratitude In the words of the C.S. Lewis Institute, "Being grateful...
